Pretenders: Lori, Kristen, Ashley

Lori joined TLS when we opened the Waterstone campus in 2010. She received her Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood Education from Fisher College and has spent the all of her adult life working with preschoolers in different settings. Originally from Massachusetts, she and her son, Chris, have happily settled in Hillsborough to be closer to her family and are now officially southerners. An annual beach trip is always in the future.

Kristen spent most of her childhood growing up in Hillsborough. During her middle school years she moved to Mebane where she now lives with her son. She is earned her  Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education from Alamance Community College in May 2016. She has a passion for young children and finds an indescribable joy in watching and helping them grow. In her spare time she loves being outdoors with her son, Cameron. They spend hours each week at the park, where she finds herself having as much fun as Cameron. Other hobbies of hers are music, scrapbooking, DIY projects, and being crafty! Kristin is thrilled to be a part of The Little School Community and pursuing her dream career of teaching young children.

Ashley was born and raised in Durham and she is an only child. Her Aunt was a preschool teacher and was a big influence in her life. Shortly after high school in 2007 she started work as an assistant teacher at a preschool in Durham. Ashley worked there for four years. Four years ago she was in a car accident that put her job life on hold for two years. Ashley then found The Little School, and worked at the Duke school close to two years as a pre-k teacher. Ashley has now joined us here at the Hillsborough campus and is extremely excited to continue her passion of teaching children.
