Travelers: Kristin, Ginnie, Albert
Kristin is a graduate of Appalachian State with a Bachelor’s in Criminal Justice. She plans to go back to school for Early Elementary Education. She became interested in child care after volunteering with a local organization. Her goal is to help children feel empowered to make great choices and encourage a positive self image.
Ginnie grew up in Hillsborough, then moved to Mebane in middle school; where she currently lives. She started working at The Little School in January 2015. She is very excited about her opportunity here and eager to learn all she can. She loves watching children grow and their perception of the world around them. She is currently enrolled at Alamance Community College for an Associate in Early Childhood Education. Ginnie has an adorable son, Sawyer, who attends school here. In their spare time they enjoy spending time together; being outside, going to museums, and traveling.
After graduating from UNC Chapel Hill in 2003 with a BA in English Literature, Albert began working with children in an after school program in Boston. Upon moving back to NC, Albert started his Early Childhood Education journey in 2007 volunteering with AmeriCorps T.E.A.C.H. Early Childhood Program. He was matched with Frank Porter Graham where he eventually became an assistant teacher. Then, in the continued spirit of volunteerism, Albert taught 7th ESL in Pohnpei, FSM with US Peace Corps. Missing Early Childhood Education, Albert, after Peace Corps, took a job with Reggio inspired Erwin Road Children’s School as Lead Preschool Teacher where he taught for two years before deciding to be a full time Stay At Home Dad and part time Yoga Teacher. Albert joins The Little School in 2016 hoping to incorporate his love for serving families, his love for music and his love for the outdoors into his experiences working with children.
