Lynne No grew up in Greensboro, NC after stops in MA, NJ, VT, and OR.  She received her Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from UNC-Chapel Hill and a Master’s degree in Early Childhood Education from Vanderbilt University.  She has taught in Durham, Chapel Hill and Hillsborough.  In 2011 she decided to move out west to Colorado where she met her husband, Tom.  After welcoming their daughter, AvaSun, they decided to move to NC to live closer to family and now happily call Hillsborough home.

Lynne has taught everything from Preschool to Fourth Grade over her sixteen years of teaching, but her heart has always been with the youngest children.  Her passions in the classroom are reading children’s literature, teaching through music, and playing and learning out in nature.  She loves reading aloud to her children, and her goal is to encourage them to develop a lifelong love of books and reading. She also strongly believes in the power of music as a tool for teaching and learning anything under the sun.  Whether the kids want to learn about how plants grow or how to count to 100, she will find a song that helps them reach that goal!  She also wants to instill in her students a love and respect for the Earth and all living things.  She does this by getting them outside to explore, question, and discover as much as they can about the natural world right in their backyard.  She is excited to be a part of The Little School and make these passions a part of her classroom every day!
