Subs and Floaters

Bunnia

Bunnia is excited to be a part of The Little School! She is originally from Marquette, Michigan but have lived most of her life in the wonderful state of NC. During her teenage years, her first summer job was working with children who had special needs. She loved and enjoyed them and the experience so much that she returned to work with them every summer until she graduated from high school. Bunnia felt this experience to be her special calling and continued her career in Early Childhood Education teaching preschoolers while living in Carrboro, NC. A move to Durham in 1996 helped further her teaching career when she started teaching the Pre-K class for the next ten years and then Preschoolers for the next eight up to the present in 2015. She obtained her NC Early Childhood Credentials I & II in 1998. It gives her great joy to be a teacher! She feels that children are amazing souls. They are also loving, creative, and so much more! She is happy to be a part of their lives and to help them during their developing years. Bunnia has five nieces and nephews. When she is not working she enjoys spending time with her family and friends.  She loves reading, listening to all genres of music and checking out different bands, walking, decorating, and olympic foil fencing (advanced beginner).

 Sheryl

Sheryl is very excited to join The Little School as a full-time sub. She has been a preschool teacher for almost 20 years. She is also a mother and grandmother who enjoys spending time with her family in the great outdoors hiking, water sports and camping. She grew up with a father who was in the USAF and got to travel all around the world. Her mother came to the USA from Germany when she was 12 years old. She lived in a small German village which gave them the opportunity to live in that culture. She got to travel and see many different countries and see many wonderful things. She came to NC from Florida as a young adult. She loved NC so much that she never left. She likes to cook, read, create art, scrapbooking and gardening. She has a love for children and like to see them grow in a natural environment. Sheryl is very happy to join the Little School Team.

 Claricia

Claricia lives in Mebane, North Carolina. She has lived in North Carolina all her life. She has worked with children for over five years from being a nanny, to a floater and to a teacher’s assistant; but she has been around children all her life. She has a large family with seven sisters and brother and a ton of nieces and nephews. After high school, Claricia earned her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology with a minor in Social Work and Sociology. She continued her education to pursue a Master’s in Human Services with a concentration in Not-for-profit Management. However, she felt that she wanted to expand her learning, so she obtained her second Master’s in Education with a concentration in Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment. Children have always been her passion since at a very early age; they are innocent and full of life. Children can brighten up your day, even when you feel lost or sad. She is grateful and ecstatic to join The Little School at Duke and to be a part of a well round organization. She is happy to learn from everyone and meet all the families that are a part of The Little School. She loves to listen to music, fishing, great movies, and spending time with her family.
