Sandy joined the TLS family at our Hillsborough campus in 2012. She has spent her time there working with infants and toddlers and learning about conscious discipline as well as the Reggio approach. She believes all children are capable and likes to look for the learning taking place in even the simplest actions. Before coming to TLS she worked in several different childcare settings and had been doing so since 1998. Currently she is working on getting her BA in Early Childhood Development.
Edna is married and has five wonderful children. She has spent the last ten years working with infants and has loved every minute of it. She takes great pride in caring for the littlest ones and watching them develop day by day. Edna has tons of experience with very young children, is amazed by their curiosity about absolutely everything and even loves potty training! She is in the final stretch of earning her degree in Early Childhood Education. When we first met Edna she let me know that she was intrigued by our school and measured us by whether or not she would bring her own child to us and would we call her child by name. We are so glad we passed her test!
Schyller was born and raised in Welcome, N.C. and recently moved to Timberlake with her boyfriend. Since she can remember, Schyller has enjoyed working with children. Our approach to caring for children was what brought her to The Little School at Duke. Schyller's goal is to become a first grade teacher once she completes college. On the weekends you can find her and her boyfriend taking on new projects around the house and traveling for softball.
